Napa Valley

Grant Long Jr. made his first barrel of wine in his parent’s garage at the age of 18 and was very happy when friends and neighbors came back for more.
His career in the world of wine began while he was in his 20s and worked at respected California wineries. Years later, in 2015, Grant and his wife Megan purchased a property at the base of Howell Mountain that would eventually become Aonair Winery & Caves. Their dream was forged from a passion for creating wine from a specific place and time and to that end they have endeavored to make wines that represent a unique vineyard in a single vintage. Today Grant is happy to work alongside a small, passionate winemaking team at Aonair and Misc. Wines. His winemaking team consists of himself, David Yorgensen, and Dylan Pecchenino.

The first vintage of Misc Wines 2021 Misc Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon was made in 2015 and Grant likes to tell clients that his “2twenty-twentyone Misc Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is the poor man’s Scarecrow.” A well-kept Napa Valley secret, Aonair and Misc’s sales are 100 percent referral based. He tells Club 672, “We don’t rate our wines or market our wineries. Aonair Winery & Caves as well as the Reverie Winery Estate are 100 precent private allocation only.” He does not distribute his wines or sell them at retail anywhere in the country. Having enjoyed this sneak peek, Club 672 visitors are welcome to taste Misc, Aonair, and Reverie wines by advance appointment at Aonair Winery & Caves.
