Napa Valley

Robin Daniel Lail can trace her Napa Valley history back to 1879 when her great-granduncle Captian Gustav Niebaum founded Inglenook Vineyards. After the Captain’s death Robin’s father John Daniel, Jr. took over stewardship of the estate and although the winery was sold in 1964, John made sure to pass his winemaking knowledge on to his daughter. Robin was working with Robert Mondavi at the time, and he constantly reminded her of the importance of carrying on her father’s legacy, so in 1995 she, her husband, and two daughters established Lail Vineyards. Today Lail Vineyards wines are made by Napa superstar winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky under Robin’s watchful eye.
The Lail Vineyards 2022 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon that 672 members receive is made from grapes sourced across 11 vineyards located in Calistoga, Coombsville, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, Stags Leap District, and Yountville. The team feels that each vineyard adds a “voice to the choir, making this bottling an amalgam of the whole of the vintage in Napa Valley, as opposed to an expression of a singular site.” The winemakers reported a mild and easy growing season with most of the grapes harvested prior to the heat dome that occurred in early September and recommend enjoying a bottle in 5 to 7 years thus allowing all the flavors and aromas to fully intertwine. The team also recommends pairing this delightful wine with cheese, lamb, spicy chicken, and roasted root vegetables.
