Napa Valley

Lindsay Hoopes describes herself as owner/alpha dog at Hoopes Vineyard and tells 672 that she wears many hats in her “small business do everything role.” She runs the business with her father Spencer and describes her husband Mitan as the “taste tester,” but her four kids are the real inspiration to keep the business going.

Her dad started out as a grape grower and decided to make the jump to producing wine when a buyer told him that they were the best grapes in town and thus wanted to use his name as a single vineyard designate. He reasoned that if someone thought his name was worth using, he should probably make his own wine. His first vintage was in 1999.

During this time Lindsay was working as a lawyer and prosecutor but unfortunately her father became ill and lapsed into a coma, so she dedicated her time to run the business. The family vineyard is in Oakville and is surrounded by Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Bond, Paradigm, Ghost Block, and Lokoya. The winemaker is Aaron Pott who works for Hoopes Vineyard as well as a few other wineries in the valley.

In addition to the Hoopes Vineyard 2019 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon sent to Napa Valley 672 Wine Club members Hoopes Vineyard’s portfolio includes a full assortment of wines made from vineyards they managed for other owners. Most of their wines are sold direct to consumer and Lindsay wants Napa Valley 672 Wine Club members to know that “we are one of the last vestiges of family-owned wineries and we appreciate the support.” She also invites members to call her personally because she “can’t wait to meet any one of our fans!”
