Napa Valley

Tamber Bey Vineyards is most definitely a family affair. Founder and proprietor Barry Waitte works as vintner, his wife Jennifer is the director of marketing, and their daughter Kendra fills the roles of the director of hospitality and direct-to-consumer liaison. Barry moved from Silicon Valley to Napa Valley in 1999 and released 150 cases of his first wine soon thereafter. He’s proud to report that Tamber Bey has now grown to 10,000 case production per year. The winery’s Deux Chevaux vineyard is located in Yountville and is 60 acres in size with 45 of those planted with vines. The family also owns a three-acre vineyard in the Oakville AVA, where the property also serves as their primary residence. Tamber Bey’s vineyard neighbors are Kapcsandy, Ghost Block, and Dominus.

Sally Johnson Blum, formerly of Pride Mountain Winery, is the winemaker and Hayley Bowman leads the winemaking team. Sally also makes wine for other clients at Tamber Bey and has her hands full managing a staff of full-time cellar workers and interns.

In addition to the Tamber Bey Vineyards 2022 Merlot made from grapes grown in the Deux Chevaux Vineyard, Tamber Bey also produces Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and four different Bordeaux blends.

Tamber Bey sells mostly directly to consumers but also has distribution in eight states for on-premise restaurant enjoyment and because the winery is located on a large horse ranch visitors are treated to a unique experience tasting wine in an equestrian themed courtyard.
